It’s always a challenge to say goodbye to the holiday season, as it usually encompasses seeing family and friends. The Luke house is filled to the brim during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays…and for me it is the most enjoyable family time of the year. This year was especially notable, as my daughter is expecting a female addition to the family in March. Being overpowered at every voting opportunity at her Columbia home with her husband (Chris), brother (Bob), and son (“Nate the Great”), she just can’t wait for another girl’s voice to be heard. And, if she’s like her mama, I can assure you that her voice will be heard. More (pictures) to come! This edition of the newsletter brings the announcement of newest faculty member, Dr. Christine Simmers. Christine completed her Ph.D. from Louisiana State University in Marketing. With this hire, we have a new record number of 23 full-time faculty responsible for more than 750 student majors (and over 150 minors). We are also featuring in this issue Dr. Linda Pettijohn’s return to America after setting London ablaze during the fall semester. I’m sure that the United Kingdom will never be the same! Enjoy reading about her adventure.

We are proud of the national awards received by Marketing faculty members Dr. Diana Haytko and Dr. Chuck Hermans and the Marketing Club, and invite you to enjoy reading about these recognitions. We welcome back Drs. John Kent, Diana Haytko, and Chuck Hermans who had quite an experience teaching at our branch campus in China over the holiday break. You’ll learn more about their adventures in our next newsletter edition. The Princeton Review has now named the Missouri State University College of Business Administration as one of the “Best Business Schools in the Midwest.” We are pleased to receive this high honor. We’ve had quite a year so far and look forward to what 2006 promises to bring. Here’s wishing you the best. Happy New Year!
