SMSU, Marketing
Department Ventures Down a New Road |
|

In March, Governor Matt Blunt signed the long-awaited
bill that will change SMSU to MSU, effective August 28,
2005. After a nineteen year quest, the University gains a new name and
mission. Quoted in the NewsLeader, Governor Blunt said, "MSU
reflects what the university does...It's good for Missouri and higher
education in the state."
For the Marketing Department, other changes
are also in store. New
classroom offerings and learning opportunities abound as the
University heads into its second century. Dr. Linda Pettijohn
will spend the Fall 2005 semester in London teaching in the Missouri
London program. Marketing faculty continue to go to and from the SMS
branch campus in Dalian, China. Along with the traditional classroom
setting, courses are now offered via the web and through distance
learning as well.
And yet some things will not change. The
Marketing faculty takes pride in continuing to develop close, personal
ties with their students, watching them grow, develop and ultimately
succeed in their chosen fields of business.
Yes, we are charting a new course on a new
path. There may be bumps along the way, but what an adventure awaits!
Join us in the countdown over the next few months as we celebrate our
history as SMSU and move to our future as MSU. |
